Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice
The British driver has outscored his teammate at all of the last five grands prix.
Lando Norris edged out fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the quickest lap in the final moments of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the points lead from Piastri by one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, outpaced the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Until that point, Piastri had been the leading McLaren for most of the session before sprint qualifying set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the championship fight, sitting 36 points behind behind Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team opted for a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, though minor, when he rotated at corner four soon after starting.
The Japanese slid over the track edges before sliding over the run-off area, and was fortunate to get away with just a slight brush of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also lost it, at the very end of the session, spinning around through the fast downhill Mergulho corner leading to the last turn on to the main straight.
Hamilton finished practice in P19, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the rest of the field, with the German's Sauber in third, over half a second slower than the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and Williams' Sainz.
